Not All Dem Candidates Are Pelosi Fans

The Hill asked Democratic congressional incumbents and challengers who they would vote for speaker if the Democrats regained control of the House. It appears that Nancy Pelosi would have enough votes for the job, but some of the responses, especially from some of the challengers, were pretty interesting. Some challengers refused to say they would vote for Pelosi, while some others issued less than ringing endorsements. I particularly liked this one:

Harry Mitchell, who is challenging Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.), said he hadn't thought about the issue and offered tepid support when he did. Asked if he would support Pelosi, he said, "I guess so. I wouldn't vote for a Republican."

This is, of course, just a fantasy question, but the responses were still pretty revealing.
