Incumbent Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich has a peculiar gift for coming across as incompetent. It remains to be seen whether Republican challenger Judy Topinka can take advantage of the incumbent's many weaknesses. Polls here generally show Blagojevich with a slight lead, but well under 50%.
