Maryland Governor Erlich Picks Kristen Cox As Running Mate

Maryland Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. has picked Kristen Cox, his Secretary of Disabilities, as his running mate for his race against Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley. Lt. Governor Michale Steele is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Paul Sarbanes. Cox, who has an impressive resume in service to the disabled, is almost totally blind.

As improbable as it may seem Cox is not the only blind politician running for Lt. Governor in 2006. In New York, Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is running for Governor with State Senate Minority Leader David A. Paterson, who is blind as well, as his running mate.
