It doesn't look like Senator Robert Byrd will lose re-election this year, but it does look like West Virginia is slowly becoming a Republican state. It would be nice if Republicans can capture the other two Congressional seats.

This is simply voter inertia. Byrd will die soon enough though. He is close to 90 and will not likely live to finish this term. His wife died earlier this year at 88 or 89, so his main support has passed on.
