Robo-Calls, Distortions And Stem Cell Politics

American Family Voices has some explaining to do regarding their robo-call messages in Chris Shays' district. The calls grossly distorted Shays' position and voting record on stem cell research. AFV has issued an apology, but no explanation. The tactic is certainly nothing new. The fact that they got called out on it and apologized is though.

It's hard to get away with ... (Below threshold)

It's hard to get away with this crap in modern times, what with Caller ID and the internet to research the numbers.

Not that it would stop anyone from trying. I doubt anyone ever got elected by tearing down the other guy's signs, either, but it happens all the time.
