Can you guess who wrote the following?:
Why it Matters Who is in the MajorityThe political party that is in the majority in the House and in the Senate controls the debate, determines which bills will come to the floor and what the rules of debate will be.
Under Republican leadership these past several years, the democratic process has been scrapped. Important bills have come up in the dead of night, have been voted on before there was time for anyone to read them, voting times have been extended until Republicans could get enough votes to pass repressive measures, and committee meetings have been held without informing Democratic members.
With a Democratic majority, eleven of the twenty House Committees would be chaired by members of the Progressive or Black Caucus. 45 of 92 House sub-committee chairs would be members of the Progressive, Black, Hispanic or Asian Pacific Caucus.
...
The Judiciary Committee would be chaired by John Conyers (D-MI) instead of James Sensenbrenner (R-WI). On the docket are HR 636 Censuring President Bush, HR 9 Voting Rights Act, HR 5151 Freedom of Choice Act which would codify Roe v. Wade, and HR 2092 Comprehensively Reform the Immigration and Nationality Act, which was introduced by Sheila Jackson-Lee and is the strongest pro-immigrant bill pending. She would chair the Immigration Sub-Committee.The Committee on Rules would be chaired by Louise Slaughter (D-NY) instead of David Dreier (R-CA). Waiting to be heard is HR 635 to Create a Select Committee for Possible Impeachment.
The Ways and Means Committee would be chaired by Charles Rangel (D-NY), instead of Bill Thomas (R-CA). Waiting to be heard is HR 676 Health Care for All and HR 4197 The Hurricane Katrina Recovery Act.
The Education and the Workforce Committee would be chaired by George Miller (D-CA), instead of Howard P. 'Buck' McKeon (R-CA). Waiting to be heard is HR 1696 Employee Free Choice Act, the right to unionize; HR 1704 The Second Chance Act to assist young people after incarceration; HR 5150 Reverse the Raid on Student Aid; and HR 551 the Student Privacy Protection Act regarding turning over names of students to the military.
The International Relations Committee would be chaired by Tom Lantos (D-CA), a member of the Progressive Caucus, which has been chaired by Henry Hyde (R-IL). Before this committee are eight bills dealing with redeployment and withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
The Republican leadership has kept all of these bills from getting on the calendar.
With a Democratic majority in the House, Nancy Pelosi would become the first woman Speaker. She and Harry Reid, who would preside over the Senate, have already announced bills that would be voted on in the first week of a House-Senate Democratic majority: Enact the 9/11 Commission recommendations, which Bush has shelved Raise the minimum wage Make prescription drugs affordable Cut interest rates for student loans in half Repeal billions of dollars in tax cuts to the rich and oil/ energy corporations.
If the forces of the all peoples front are successful in defeating the Republican majority on November 7, this victory can be expected to unleash big, new energy that can bring people in the streets massively to push hard on Congress for a more advanced program.
Hint: It wasn't written by the Democrats. Find the answer here. It really does matter who is in the majority.

Of course any real communist group would HATE the Democrats because they are pro-business and pro-establishment. There are no Democrats pushing for a worker's revolution, or state-run operation of major business fields, or the elimination of a capitalist system.
All that this release shows is that, in the USA, the communist party is as centrist-oriented as anyone else. The only radical element left is the far-right, who wants to turn the GOP into a warring branch of the Christian faith where women have a traditional role, our freedoms are curtailed or mollified to fit the whims of a biblical interpreter, and punishing gays with stoning is a reality.
If you honestly believe a party that elects mostly wealthy, centrist people is in any way a radical group, then this press release is your confirmation. To me it just says that the CPUSA has come to the table of real debate instead of making demands to move far left.

Kimyl said " There are no Democrats pushing for a worker's revolution, or state-run operation of major business fields or the elimination of a capitalist system"
Really??
Labor unions support umm democrats.
Have you heard of Hillarycare? (you know that is only about 1/7th of the US economy).
You dont think the dems want the govt to take control of the oil industry?
You havent heard the call for the rich to get taxed more so that the poor can get more govt subsidies?
What about Hillary saying (paraphrase) "We are going to take more of your money for the good of everyone"
The big question is
a. Have you been hiding under a rock for the last 15 years or so
b. Dont pay attention to what the democrats have been saying and doing
c. Just too stupid to see what is right in front of your face
d. Are you just a liar who expects people to actually believe the BS you have written.
E. Are you just plain blind or have you been using illegal drugs.

My favorite part is that among the bills that would be pushed if Dems were in office is "HR 5151 Freedom of Choice Act which would codify Roe v. Wade".
Of course they have been screeding that our pro-Life initiatives were only to rally the base and make big issues out of non-issues.....
Another bill on the Dems docket, Gay-Marriage legalization. Of course the marriage protection laws are simply smokescreen too....

Kimyl is almost incapable of making a post anymore without throwing in some lies and insults about the religious right. (Stoning gays a reality?) The question is why.
His hatred is evident, and it leads him to writing the most outrageous nonsense, that one wonders how a professional psychologist would analyze his obsession with God-hating.
Clearly he has far deeper issues than politics. He used to frustrate me with his comments, but now I see he has some major issues and needs professional help.

Steve,
Are you just now waking up? Kimyl Oh has NEVER, EVER said anything intelligent on ANY POST? He is TOTALLY a waste of time for anyone to read. Just ignore his blathering. It is meaningless.

Just when I thought everything a liberal does, says, or writes is wrong, along came this excerpt containing factual, relevant information. Line after line of exactly why we can't allow these fools to win in November. Regardless of your feelings about President Bush or the performance of the majorities in Congress, please vote. I never want to see the word "speaker" anywhere near the name Pelosi.

I assure you I am a happy, well-adjusted success, but I have no tolerance for people who distort the truth or seek to push humanity backwards.
Meaningless is subjective, but of course it is easy to cast me aside than it is to analyze the substance of my arguments.
I cannot believe that people are so blind as to think only the Democrats want to control your lives, when the GOP wants the same thing as well. The key is to hold your government accountable and make them debate on your terms, not those of special interests, the very wealthy and other people who need no help from the government but get it all.
Again, do you really think that all of these wealthy, vested, traditionalist people want some communist utopia? They want things to stay basically the same (remember, they are on top, so everything is pretty fair) while tinkering with injustice. These are not communists, or radicals, these are the bourgeoisie.

I have no tolerance for people who distort the truth
----------------------------
How do you tolerate yourself? Your errors of fact are shown repeatedly here, and usually you slink away without comment until the next post (where you have been known to repeat the same errors of fact) - a recent example, the Lieberman voting record which has been MORE liberal the last couple years, not LESS liberal (as you argued in justifying his defeat)
But you then refuse to come back to the post, and that is why people are saying discussion with you is a waste of time. To quote a famous line - You can't handle the truth.
Only one time do I recall you admitting your error and ignorance on a topic (the economic aftermath of 9/11) - and replying accordingly.
And we have analyzed the 'substance' of your arguments to death around here - but how do you discuss the truth with someone who repeatedly says things like the religious right wants to stone homosexuals.
Some substance...
