Just when you thought it was safe . . . (Wizbang Politics)

I am honored to be asked to join Wizbang!, which Kevin and the contributors have built into one of the most influential sites in the blogosphere. The recent additions of writers like Lorie Byrd, Kim Priestap, Alex McClure, D.J. Drummond, and Ed Torres have only extended that influence, and I hope not to slow the momentum.

By way of introduction, I'm a middle-aged rural South Carolinian, although I lived nearly half my life in Virginia and most of my closest friends still live there. I spent many years in newspapers - but always on the business end, so don't blame me for the state of reporting. For the last thirteen years, I've been a self-employed business owner and investor. I've been a political junkie since the age of eight, and have followed elections closely ever since.

Those of you who read the comments may know me as "Adjoran," a pseudonym I adopted in honor of an obscure Hungarian chess grandmaster whose piquant play inspired me. I've also posted on political message boards under various nicknames since 1994, so if you think you recognize my writing from elsewhere, you're probably right - no sane writer would want to imitate it anyway.

I pledge to continue either dispensing witty and pithy insights, or spewing right-wing venom, depending upon your point of view.
