Last week, the canidates for governor of MN had a debate, in which the two main canidates, Liberal Mike Hatch, and Conservative Tim Pawlenty traded some interesting barbs.

Pawlenty is high on my "dar... (Below threshold)
Jim Addison:

Pawlenty is high on my "dark horse" list for the 2008 GOP nomination.

He should be comfortably reelected, and has a lot going for him: a successful Governor, his experience qualifies him as a manager, and he is distant enough from the DC establishment not to be tarred as an insider. Additionally, he is from one of the "light blue" Great Lakes states in which Republicans are becoming more competitive - and without which there is almost no practical configuration of the Electoral College to elect a Democrat.
