Texas Politics

Texas Democrats couldn't round up a credible canidate in any of their statewide races, both up and down ballot. Looks like Republicans will continue to hold all of their constitutional offices through 2010. The most amusing part of that article is that Chris "Tom Delay helped an black guy steal my congressional seat" Bell is considered the best canidate for governor since Ann Richards. That alone displays the pathetic state of the Texas Democratic party.

Ah, Ann Richards . . . she ... (Below threshold)
Jim Addison:

Ah, Ann Richards . . . she always reminded me of the old ladies you might see seated at the corner bar in the middle of the afternoon, chain-smoking as she gulps down Old Fashioneds, calling everyone "Hon" in a raspy, Susan Estrich-like voice.

Except most of those old drunk ladies are nicer.

;-)
