A new Rasmussen Poll reports that Senator Conrad Burns has erased his deficit in the polls and is now tied with Democratic challenger Jon Tester. If Burns can keep this momentum, it would be very good news for Republicans. It would guarantee continued Republican control of the Senate.

I don't want to take too much from a single poll result - especially since I've been all over the internet for years saying they don't mean much this far away from Election Day - but if it holds up, it is very good news.
Burns was a surprise vulnerability as he was caught up in ties with Jack Abramoff. But remember, this Democratic primary was the Kos Kids' first win ever, and Tester is a certifiable moonbat cadet. So long as Burns isn't charged with any crime or photographed drowning puppies, he should beat Tester easily.

Aside from Rehberg, Baucus is just as much a liberal nut as Tester, as is the kook Governor, Schweitzer (who wouldn't have won had the previous GOP Governor hadn't been so gaffe-prone). I'm not terribly enamored of Burns and hoped he would've stepped down in favor of a younger and similarly less gaffe-prone Republican, but his win is of paramount importance this year.
