This seat is one which ever... (Below threshold)1. Posted by Jim Addison | August 12, 2006 12:40 AM | Score: 0 (0 votes cast)
This seat is one which every analyst and pundit have as a toss-up, one of the most competitive seats in the House. Although retiring incumbent Jim Nussle {who is running for Governor}, typically won by double digits and by 12% in 2004, Kerry outpolled Bush 53-46 in it.
Whalen is a businessman, while his opponent, Bruce Braley is a trial lawyer. Braley is pretty far left on the moonbat scale, but that doesn't necessarily disqualify a candidate in Iowa for some reason.
Definitely one of the year's key races, and Whalen needs all the help he can get, as national Democrats pour resources into the district in hopes of picking up the seat.
