State Rep. Steve Huffman gets a boost for his Republican primary hopes in the race to replace retiring Congressman Jim Kolbe as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed him. The Business Journal of Phoenix reports on it HERE:
Republicans face a challenge in holding onto Kolbe's seat. The Tucson/Tombstone district is politically moderate and Democrats hope either former state Sen. Gabby Giffords or ex-Tucson news anchor Patty Weiss can win the seat for their side of the aisle. Giffords and Weiss will face off in the Democratic primary while Huffman faces a tough battle against immigration hawk and conservative Randy Graf and party activist Mike Hellon, a moderate.
Graf challenged Kolbe in the 2004 GOP primary and has the support of those wanting tougher border security and immigration controls. He also is popular with social conservatives.

The Cook Political Report rates this district a toss-up, and most analysts predict it will be very competitive. That might be premature, though: shouldn't we look at the race when we have actual candidates nominated?
