2006 Connecticut Senate Race

There is a ton of good news out on the polling front for Republicans today. I am starting in Connecticut where a new Quinnipiac Poll is out showing Joe Lieberman leading Ned Lamont 53%-41%, with 4% going to the Republican candidate.

55% of those polled approve of the way Lieberman is performing his duties as a United States Senator. In a match-up between LIberman and Lamont, the Connecticut Democrat wins an amazing 68% of the Republican vote and 54% of the Independent vote. He retains enough Democratic votes (33%) to push him over 50%. The rest of the polling results are interesting, but the bottom line is that one more liberal will go down to defeat, showing that, despite their sway in a Democratic Party, the extreme leftism of the Democratic Party's grassroots today does not play well with the general electorate.

Well, it was bound to happe... (Below threshold)

Well, it was bound to happen once word got out of Kerry going all-out to help Lamont. It taints him with the odor of losing.

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright.
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light.
And, somewhere men are laughing, and little children shout,
But there is no joy in Moonbatland -- the flighty Kossacks have struck out.

Again.

Heh.

All that remains is the actual vote, then the really good part begins: the recriminations, finger-pointing, and cries of "stolen elections" . . .
