2006 Pennsylvania Senate Race

A new Strategic Vision Poll is out in Pennsylvania. It reports that Rick Santorum now has a 47% to 45% job approval rating. In a match-up with Bobby Casey Jr., the Democrat leads 47% to 41%.

In the previous Strategic Vision poll, Santorum trailed Casey by 10 points (50% to 40%). His approval rating was an even 46% to 46%. It seems clear that Santorum now has momentum. Every poll that has been taken in this race has Casey up around 6 to 7 points. Santorum still has his work cut out for him, but it is not nearly the same dire situation it was for the past two years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, bu... (Below threshold)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Santorum ran his first statewide campaign ads just a week or so ago.

If Bob Casey, Jr. is forced out of seclusion by the tightening race and has to debate, Santorum will make him look like a fool.

Harry Reid said this week he expected to pick up five Senate seats this year. I demand a drug test on that man.

If the Democrats break even, they should be thankful.
