Despite offensive remarks made by campaign co-chairman (and former Democratic Rep. and UN Ambassador under Carter) Andrew Young, Democrat Mark Taylor has no plans to dismiss him or apparently even to rebuke him. Young disparaged Jews, Arabs, and Koreans in remarks made to a weekly LA newpaper.
At least Wal-Mart won't be using him as a "PR" man anymore . . . what were they thinking?
Shannon McCaffrey covers the story for the Associated Press:
The gubernatorial campaign of Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor said Friday there were no plans for its co-chairman to step down despite remarks he made about Jews, Koreans and Arabs in an interview.
Taylor's camp said the comments were "regrettable" but insisted they should not eclipse the decades Andrew Young, a one-time associate of Martin Luther King Jr., has spent on the front lines in the civil rights struggle.Young also is a former United Nations ambassador and Atlanta mayor.
"Ambassador Young has apologized and taken responsibility for what he said," said Taylor spokesman Rick Dent.

Notice how fast the Democrats rush to forgive one of their own, even one with the history of coziness to America's enemies Young has. Compare and contrast their attitude when a white Republican says something they have to strain to find the offense in, like Sen. George Allen.
Ah, hypocrisy - it's every bit as much a Democratic tradition as voter fraud.

Andrew Young like Jesse Jackson sold out a long time ago..They are both a disgrace to the memory of Dr. King...Harry Belefonte is one of the few left from the 50' and 60's that remains true to the dream...

Sorry, but I don't think that's "The Dream" going through Belafonte's brain these days.
More like some paranoid hallucinations . . .

Belafonte's dream is worldwide Stalinist-Marxism. He's every inch as psychotic and delusional a fool as Paul Robeson was.
