When the same name keeps appearing in scandal after scandal, one should ask "Why?" From early connections to organized crime figures in Las Vegas, to accepting several donations from convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff's clients and interceding on their behalf, not once, but four times, one Senator's name seems never to be far from the payola. That Senator is Democratic Minority Leader Harry Reid.
Now his connections with a wealthy real estate developer and his efforts to aid the man's pet project, even attempting to give away public land and convince regulators to ignore the law, makes for a long exposé in the Los Angeles Times - although nonchalantly placed in the business section for some reason or another. * * * * *It's a long article, but it should make your blood boil when you read how that conniving, sniveling little abomination of a man worked the system to get this project going. Now if he was a Republican, this would be front page news and called a scandal. Democrats would be screaming culture of corruption.

Imagine a Republican with such a cozy arrangement: repeated favors delivered from Reid, repeated large campaign donations TO Reid and his sons, plus some choice legal work thrown their way. Since Reid carries the magic "D" behind his name, and no actual cash was found in his freezer, we hear nary a whimper from the media, though.

His history of crime and corruption in Nv. just followed him to congress. Crime to a dimorat politician like Reid is like Meth to an idiot. Makes you crazy and you can't shake the habit.
