Incumbent Republican Rep. Heather Wilson is thought to have an edge on Democratic challenger Attorney General Patricia Madrid in this race, upon which we have previously reported. And well she ought to, if the national magazine Pink is to be believed. The magazine just named Wilson as one of nine women with the credentials for the Presidency, as Kate Bush of The Albuquerque Tribune reports:
Wilson's re-election spokesman Enrique Carlos Knell said Wilson is flattered by the magazine including her on its list, but she's busy running for something else.
"She's running for re-election in the 1st Congressional District of New Mexico," he said. The magazine picked her in part because she's an Air Force Academy graduate and Rhodes Scholar with a doctorate in international relations from Oxford University. Wilson is the first female veteran to serve in Congress.

Wilson has impressive credentials, but hardly enough to qualify her to run a $2.5+ TRILLION annual operation with millions of employees. Several others on the magazine's list are Governors or former Mayors, whose experiences are more qualifying. And where is Carly Fiorina? {ducks missiles from HP loyalists}.
The endorsement and the buzz it generates can only help her reelection campaign, though. As our earlier report illustrated, there is still debate over whether her opponent, Madrid, is even qualified for the job she already has.
