Totally unrelated comment - I didn't want to bother with an email, so I'm leaving a comment. Feel free to delete.
I'm on my wife's laptop (computer, that is) and without my usual bookmarks. I clicked on Captain's Quarters in your blogroll and was taken to a vacation site. You might want to fix that (or else demand some kind of compensation from them).

McCain is delusional if he thinks all the garbage he said about the evangelical, religious-right in the primary season of 2000 will NOT come back to haunt him.
But since he probably will be running against at least one person the evangelical community supports - maybe he just plans on repeating the same stuff. A sure ticket to victory in a GOP primary season...

McCain is a sure "frontrunner," not winner. His 25-35% of the vote won't get any bigger, and it may even be enough to win primaries if there are two or three other strong and viable candidates in the race.
Once it boils down to two, though, he's in trouble even if he "makes the finals." His long history of going off half-cocked in his own direction, such as with BCFRA, the "Gang of 14," and etc., will not be forgotten by conservatives.
He might have the easiest time in the general election of any of the potential GOP nominees, but he will find winning the nomination extremely difficult.
