Adding another high-profile Democratic organization to his list, former Rep. Kweisi Mfume picked up the endorsement of the National Organization for Women yesterday. The Baltimore Sun reports:
"Women's rights are being challenged in every arena, from equal pay at work to the right to use contraception at home," Kim Gandy, the president of NOW, said in a statement distributed by the Mfume campaign. "We are endorsing Kweisi Mfume because he is a passionate, articulate and effective advocate for change, and this Congress is in desperate need of change."
Read the rest at the link above. Mfume is in a tight contest with Rep. Ben Cardin for the Democratic nomination to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Paul Sarbanes, with the winner to face Republican Lt. Gov. Michael Steele in November. The open seat is proving more competitive than first supposed.
If this endorsement puts Mfume over the top, we could say, "Kim Gandy to the rescue!"
Sorry, couldn't resist that.

How could NOW overlook Allan Lichtman? Allan is a women's rights EXPERT in civil rights cases, and even a professor of women's history at American Univesity. He STARTED Women's History at American University, for Christ's sake.
Meanwhile, Mfume has a clear and public history of immoral actions towards women at the NAACP.

Senator Mfume, if im correct, resigned from the Senate to become the President of the NAACP. So now he wants his old job back!! You had it and quit and now you want another chance? I say no! and i hope my fellow Republicans agree. Thank-You for your time and consideration, concerning this matter.
RESPECTFULLY
