Pennslyvania 6th CD - Still a horse race

The latest Keystone Poll confirms the rematch between Republican incumbent Rep. Jim Gerlach and former Ed Rendell aide Lois Murphy, who only lost by 6500 votes in 2004, will be another squeaker. The poll, taken September 20-25, shows Gerlach with a statistically insignificant lead of 44% to Murphy's 41, with 11% undecided.

Still, given Bush's low approval in Pennsylvania, Murphy's improved fundraising, and all the talk of how the Philly suburbs are becoming more fertile ground for Democrats, Gerlach is probably happy just to be running even at this point.

Poll details, and the last several released on this race, are available, along with a general summary of the contest, at RealClearPolitics.
