2006 New Jersey Senate Race

A new Strategic Vision poll reports that State Senator Tom Kean Jr. has slightly increased his lead over the appointed and corrupt Democratic Senator Bob Menendez. Kean leads 46% to 41%.

If there is anything though that keeps me sober about this race, it is the following:

3. Do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Robert Menendez?
Favorable 43%
Unfavorable 34%
Undecided 23%

Only, only in New Jersey could the revelations about Menendez in recent weeks fail to turn his favorable-unfavorable ratio upside down.

That said, the good news is that:

2. Do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Tom Kean, Jr.?
Favorable 42%
Unfavorable 26%
Undecided 32%

The only good thing I see is that the polls remain too close for Democrats to risk replacing Menendez now. I think.

If the good citizens of New Jersey wish to have this criminal continue to represent them in the Senate, they get what they deserve.

They will. This is New Jersey after all.
