2006 New Jersey Senate Race

Tom Kean Jr. continues to keep it close in his attempt to be the first Republican to win a Senate race in New Jersey since 1972. A new Strategic Vision poll has Kean trailing 43% to 42%. 44% have a favorable opinion of Kean, 30% an unfavorable. 43% have a favorable opinion of the corrupt Hudson County Democratic boss Bob Menendez, 39% unfavorable.

In the most recent poll by this firm, Kean lead 46% to 41%. Weirdly, Kean had a 42% favorable, 26% unfavorable rating at the time. Menendez had a 43% favorable, 34% unfavorable rating.
