2006 Montana Senate Race

I honestly take back everything negative I have ever said about Conrad Burns. His campaign the past two months has been splendid. Everyone had written him off as finished, and he has come roaring back.

A new Mason-Dixon poll reports that he has pulled into a deadheat - 47% to 47% with his liberal opponent, Jon Tester. A look at the internals shows that Burns has also established a slight lead on many of the crucial issues in the race.

President Bush should make another stop here before Tuesday. Because if Conrad Burns wins, there is little chance of the Democrats winning the Senate.

I think I heard that this happened last time too. Burns is a late finisher. I never thought this seat would go blue in a red red state.
