When President Bush came to Florida yesterday, Republican gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist canceled at the last minute, annoying Karl Rove, according to CNN:
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove expressed frustration Monday over Florida GOP gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist's decision not to appear with President Bush at a rally in Pensacola.
"Let's see how many people show up in Palm Beach on 24 hrs notice versus 8 or 9,000 people in Pensacola," Rove told CNN referring to a Crist rally quickly organized by the campaign after the GOP gubernatorial candidate canceled his appearance with the President.

I think Crist may have made the right choice here. Bush wasn't in Florida to help him, since he is leading in the polls. The greater interest was control of Congress, and the President's visit helps Vern Buchanan in the open 13th district seat vacated by Rep. Katherine Harris' ill-advised run for Senate.
But Crist, campaigning in South Florida with Sen. John McCain, could have brought an equal portion of help - along with a notion of independence from the White House - to key races in the area, including the John Negron campaign for disgraced and resigned Rep. Mark Foley's 16th district seat and Rep. Clay Shaw's battle to retain his seat in the 22nd.
Of course, we cannot discount the Moonbat Theory, which states that every detail of the campaign is being orchestrated by Rove, with the aid of a secret cadre of ninjas who are rushed into critical areas on black helicopters . . .
