Amazing. She was very popular in CT when I lived there a mere 4 years ago, even though she was a Republican. Remember '00? If Algore had won and Joe became Veep Rowland was going to appoint Johnson to the Senate to take Joe's place.
What a short, strange trip it's been. Joe's been kicked to the curb (but like a typical liberal he's about to start fawning his way back into the leftist's good graces, it seems like) by his party, Algore has gone way, way left of anything he was like in '00 and now he's a hero.
4 years...6 years. A very short, very strange trip.
Speaking of CT and talk about moronic TV coverage, last night they were showing some polling about the numbers voting for Joe and how a larger percentage of R's were voting for Joe than the percentage of D's like this was big news, like 'oh my god, can you believe that a larger percentage of R's are voting for Joe than D's?!'. Um, no, wasn't it blatantly obvious that that was going to be the case all along? C'mon, the R 'candidate' got, what, like 150 votes?
Very short, very strange trip. Rowland's in jail, isn't he? But Rell just got reelected. Weird, man. Tell you what, even though they're already starting to do it, I don't know how anyone takes this vote and gets any real use out of it in terms of what will happen in '08.
