2007 Philadelphia Mayor Race

Philadelphia is now on track to have 400 murders by the end of the year. This past weekend, the city was gripped by another wave of violence. One of the shootings happened at City Hall itself in the heart of Center City Philadelphia.

Now my guess is that the media, namely the Philadelphia Inqurier, will put this on page one. Given that this has been going on for years now, I suppose it's time to pull out and start negotiating with the thugs who are now killing people on Broad Street. It's a quagmire and all that good stuff.

(I don't know where they will put the articles on the continuing Rendell-induced Philadelphia Renaissance). I guess they will break them out again next time he runs for office or is in a tight fix.) Some Renaissance.

What Philadelphia needs in 2007 to replace Rendell's lackey with someone who wil be tough on crime. And who can fit the bill better than Councilman-at-Large Frank Rizzo? Rizzo is a Republican who has been elected twice to an at-large seat on the City Council. He has been silent on his intentions for next year, but he is widely expected to run.

(For those who are unacquainted with Philadelphia history, his father, Frank Rizzo, was the person who kept Philadelphia peaceful while every other large American city burned in the 1960's and 70's.)

Better keep quiet. The dim'... (Below threshold)
Scrapiron:

Better keep quiet. The dim's will have your head for letting the American people know that there are several American cities with more violence and murders than all of Iraq. What, 400 per year for 3 years, 1200 murders in one city and the bad news is this is not the worst city and states like Florida make Iraq look like a vacation land.
From: Wake up America

Look at what I found.

Violent Crimes in 2003: 1,383,676
Violent Crimes in 2004: 1,360,088
Violent Crimes in 2005: 1,390,695

Total: 4,134,459

Murder in 2003: 16,528
Murder in 2004: 16,148
Murder in 2005: 16,692

Total Murders: 49,368

My God.... we DO need to leave. Cut and Run. Escape this madness.

Ladies and Gentlemen, these are the actual numbers of lives lost IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.....

Five times as many murders in 2005 than American soldiers killed in Iraq in 3 years. It is a fact that an American soldier is safer in Iraq than in the U.S. cities.

I expect to see screaming headlines in all of the antique MSM papers and on all of the broadcast outlets. Not

There is no way a Democrat will not win in Philadelphia. There is a herd instinct there sadly.
