Yuck? Perhaps. But I would think we (the GOP) would be better off with Murtha leading the way. He's very Kerry-esque with his words, and he would probably turn many in his own caucus against him, including many of the newly elected conservative Dems. Regardless of how Democratic representatives feel about him, he's more likely to end up being a PR nightmare for his own party. And just as Harry Reid's popularity ratings in Nevada plunged since he's been the Dem's leader in the Senate, Murtha could make himself truly vulnerable in his own district; Diana Irey could make a successful run the second time around. If they want to put up a guy who thinks his fellow Marines are guilty until proven innocent and who thinks redeploying our troops to Okinawa is good strategy, let 'em do it.

Murtha is now screaming that the "dim's" are swiftboating him.
Swiftboating is: Telling the truth about a politicians past.
The truth about Murtha's past should result in a prison sentence and not a leadership position.
This election is the best comedy to come down the pike in years. We'll be having fun with if far past the next two years. I think they will break Slick Willie's record on the number of members convicted of crimes. Old Slick is probably praying they keep it up and get him out of the spotlight as the nations most criminal administration.
