At Least Foley Wasn't Six Feet Under

In Florida Negron's name was not allowed to appear on the ballot in place of Foley's. At least the guy on the ballot was breathing. That was not the case in one North Carolina district.

Most of my favorite Democra... (Below threshold)

Most of my favorite Democrats are dead, anyway.

I have nothing against voters electing dead Democrats. I only object when they are declared ineligible to serve and replaced by something other than a special election.

It probably depends on how the state law reads. If you have to "live" in the district, they can't serve. If you only need "reside" there, the dead should be allowed to serve.

It isn't as if the live ones don't stink up the place anyway . . .
