Reports over the weekend noted that Barack Obama is the new darling of the Hollywood left, who are rushing to gush over him in an apparent attempt to out-fawn the media. Such circumstances ought clue the wise observer that Obama is about as deep as a Kennedy's commitment to rehab.
Unfortunately, someone accidentally stumbled over another "coincidence" in Obama's relationship with an Illinois man indicted in a government kickback scheme. It seems the son of a close associate of Antoin "Tony" Rezko was named an intern in Obama's Senate office last year, as the Associated Press reported:
Gibbs said Rezko recommended the intern to Obama but contended that the internship did not contradict Obama's statements about not doing any favors for Rezko.
* * * * *Rezko has pleaded not guilty to charges he plotted to squeeze millions of dollars in kickbacks out of investment firms seeking state business. He also has pleaded not guilty to obtaining a $10.5 million loan from GE Capital through fraud and swindling a group of investors.
Rezko's wife bought a vacant lot next door to Obama on the same day last year that Obama and his wife, Michelle, closed on their home, according to published reports last fall. In January, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for part of the lot to balance the space between his house and the fence.
Obama, who is weighing a run for president, has said the arrangements were ethical, but he also acknowledged he "misgauged" the implications suggested by his purchase of the additional land.
Read the rest at the link above. As a note for any potential politicians out there, whenever you have dealings with someone who has a nickname in quotes - such as Antoin "Tony" Rezko, Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, etc. - watch out!
Sure, there is nothing wrong here . . . and of course the media will give its full attention to the relationship, which had Obama using his wife to purchase a strip of land from an accused mobster, whose associate's son then wins a coveted spot in Obama's office . . .

Hillary needs to rough Obama up now to keep him from becoming an actual threat. Ideally, she diverts him into the VP pool where his race is an asset to her.
