Guiliani on abortion, judges, and guns

From Hannity & Colmes, which ought to be enough to set off the moonbats:

Bottom line: Rudy doesn't change his position on abortion or guns, and defends his record on those issues as Mayor. With this appearance he is essentially saying to Republicans as he enters the race for the nomination, "If either of these issues is a deal-breaker for you, I'm not your guy."

Risky from a political standpoint, but earning points for candor and consistency. Those who vote based absolutely on either issue probably wouldn't go for him anyway.

As I wrote here</... (Below threshold)

As I wrote here, Rudy scores points for his candor, probably loses ground on immigration & rips the Clintons a new one for not paying attention to terrorists pre-9/11.

If we don't defeat the terrorists, the other stuff is just secondary. We get that right & we're in good shape.

Where does Rudy lose ground... (Below threshold)
LorenU:

Where does Rudy lose ground on immigration. If he is pro-immigration he doesn't lose a thing. Nobody will win an election being anti-immigration, or anti-anybody for that matter. Even GWB is not anti-muslim just anti-jihadist. Just like not all Americans support the war in Iraq, not all muslims support the jihad against the west.

After watching that, I thin... (Below threshold)

After watching that, I think that the simple fact that he can speak in complete sentences without you cringing in fear that he'll horribly mispronounce something or say something utterly embarrassing will be enough to get a lot of votes.
