Even though it has no practical chance of getting to a vote in the Senate, the House's resolution against the "surge" has already sent a message of encouragement to our enemies, and the enemies of a free and democratic Iraq, and a most discouraging one to our troops.
One of the men slated to go with the "surge" is Greyhawk of the military blog Mudville Gazette. He reacts to the House vote:
"The 'ayes' have it" ...and with that, an untold number of American troops and Iraqi citizens were sentenced to death.
* * * * *As just one of the 21,500 I might be less offended by it if congress would also pass a measure indicating they had some inkling of an idea what the surge really is - thus far I've seen no evidence of that from either side of the aisle. If congress could "stop the surge" we'd still go to Iraq, just a few weeks later and in time to wave farewell to the troops we would have reinforced, facing an enemy emboldened and allies dismayed.

Greyhawk also notes the Democrats in the House are doing the precisely expressed bidding of Ayman al Zawahiri of al Qaeda. Don't question their patriotism, though.

The United States congress has a lot of members already responsible for the death of thousands of American Soldiers and Millions of civilians in Southeast Asia. Do you really think they care if they get another few thousand American Soldiers and Millions of Iraqi civilians killed? No way, just remember the past and the fact they are dhimmi's joined by a few RINO's. Reared as spoiled brats and now mentally retarded, they lead the country.
