2007 Philadelphia Mayor Race

Philadelphia is in the news a lot because of its high murder rate. Last year, it was 400 murders a year. The media, of course, ignores this because in its view the city of Brotherly Love is still in the midst of the imaginary "Rendell Renaissance." So don't expect it to make much of a report that states Philadelphia is the most tax burdened city in America. Notice the complete absence of mention of Ed Rendell or John Street.

A high murder rate.
Declining population
High taxes
Failing educational system

That's what 50 years of Democratic governance gives you. Republicans should stop pointing to Masschusetts as the epitome of liberalism's failure. Philadelphia is a much better example.

Ron:

You may find what you think if "left-wing nuttery" in Oregon, but I'd take quality of life in Portland over quality of life in Philadelphia any day. I've lived in both. In every measurable way, Portland Oregon is superior to Philadlephia PA.
