For all the squawking from the Obama camp last month when Hillary Clinton hired influential South Carolina State Senator Darrell Jackson's consulting firm for $10,000 a month, you'd never have known they were NOT objecting to any appearance of impropriety, but only the price: Obama's top offer to Jackson was $5 grand per month; he was outbid and mad about it.
Now we find his campaign, for all its early fundraising success, is offering low wages to Iowa coordinators, according to Iowa Progress:
Some have compared Obama's staff to Howard Dean's from four years ago, because it seems to include an unusual number of ideologically motivated young people, many of whom have never worked a caucus before. Their typical field organizer offer, which is the lowest of the candidates reviewed here, is $2,000 per month. Because Senator Obama is so magnetic, they are having no trouble filling positions, but the low salary may not be enough to entice experienced operatives.
Read it all at the link above. It seems Edwards gets the best marks for organization and filling his slots - which he should, given the amount of time and money he's spent in Iowa since early 2003 - and Hillary gets points for the big names and highest salaries.
