Philadelphia and Iraq

So far this year, 243 heroic American service personnel have lost their lives in Iraq fighting for freedom. The Democratic Party is calling for a unilateral pull-out of American forces from the country because it is a "quagmire" and a "disaster" and "the worst foreign policy misadventure in American history."

So far this year, 100 people have been killed in Philadelphia. Yes, Philadelphia - the city where the Founding Fathers declared a new order of the ages over two centuries ago I guess violence is so much lower when the Democrats are running things, as they have in Philadelphia for over half a century.

Hmmmm . . . lemme see here... (Below threshold)

Hmmmm . . . lemme see here . . . I know the moonbats hate math stuff, but I have to note that there are less than 1.5 million people in Philly, and about 27 million in Iraq. If Philly were as populous as Iraq with their same rate of murder, 1800 people would have been killed there.

In other words, Philadelphia is more than six times more deadly for its own citizens than Iraq is for US troops. In fairness, of course, American troops in Iraq are allowed to carry firearms to defend themselves, while the citizenry of Philadelphia is not.

Hey, don't even look at DC. That's a REAL quagmire. We need to withdraw from that hellhole immediately.

Also, if global warming is ... (Below threshold)

Also, if global warming is real then why is it so cold in the movie theatre? Another meaningful comparison from the right. Thank you.

How many PEOPLE (not just US soldiers, who make up less than 1% of those in Iraq, and have armor and guns) have died in Iraq this year? Do you think if the poverty stricken people who are murdering each other in Philly had body armor and guns and top notch medical care they might survive? What if, gasp, they even had a reason to live?

Ridiculous.

Clonus , and who's fault is... (Below threshold)
Scrapiron:

Clonus , and who's fault is it that the people in Phillie have not reason to live? Could it be the result of living your entire life depending on the democrats for welfare and voting over and over to stay poor? One thing for sure, the democrats will keep you poor and a lot of people will find that out the hard way when they implement the largest tax increase in the history of the country. I've been hoping gas will reach $5 a gallon soon to see if the democrat voters have the brains to know they have elected people that have no interest in new energy and keep blocking drilling off the coast of Fl and in Alaska. Good news or bad news, China will drill off the coast of Fl (within a few feet of out line) and drain every drop of oil that we could have had. Great move dhimmi's.
This has been the most comical three months in history, kind of watching a massive amount of duels with a lot of deaths that aren't necessary, and will continue as long as the retards in congress remain in charge.
I love to watch them destroy their own because if they can make it I can make it. Millions in the cities will be on starvation diets and i'll have a garden. Every price in the country is driven by energy and the dhimmi's are driving it up, up, and away.

Can we pull out of Philadel... (Below threshold)

Can we pull out of Philadelphia by the end of next year?
