Over at Real Clear Politics, Blake Dvorak has new state poll results for the Democrats. (The whole article is at the link).
In California, the Field Poll has Hillary 31%, Gore 25, Obama 21, Edwards 8. With Gore removed from the choices, it goes to 41 - 28 - 13 for the others.
The University of Iowa poll of likely Democratic caucus-goers, Edwards leads with 34%, followed by Hillary at 29 and Obama with 19.
In New Hampshire, the CNN/WMUR Granite State Poll shows Clinton still leading with 27%, Edwards moving into second with 21% and Obama slipping to third at 20. Hillary's support has fallen by 8% since the last poll by this outfit.
John Edwards surprises again - first it was his fundraising, at $14 million for the 1st quarter, it came in 40% over the predicted $10 mil. Now he stakes out a lead in Iowa, where Clinton had been closer (the latest Strategic Vision poll of the state also gives him a healthy lead with 27% support against Obama's 20 and Hillary's 19, with 23% still undecided), and is on the move in New Hampshire.
We don't have a new South Carolina poll yet, but judging by Edwards' momentum in Iowa and NH, it would be surprising if he hasn't improved on his 3rd place numbers here, too. He won the SC primary in 2004.
