Barack Obama has closed within five points of Hillary Clinton, cutting her lead roughly in half, since the last Rasmussen poll. Clinton still leads with 34% to Obama's 29%, which is close to his highest level of support in the poll this year. From Rasmussen Reports:
While Obama and Clinton are the frontrunners among Democrats, Edwards outperforms them when matched against leading GOP contenders. Polling data released today shows Edwards leading GOP frontrunner Rudy Giuliani. When matched against America's Mayor, Clinton and Obama are essentially tied. Similar results are found when matching the leading Democrats against Arizona Senator John McCain (R). Clinton and Obama are even with the Republican hopeful while Edwards has an advantage.
Read the whole report at the link above. Obama's gain may be partly explained by his remarkable fundraising total for the 1st quarter. Edwards hasn't moved in primary support but, as the quoted paragraph indicates, is polling stronger against the potential GOP nominees.
