A new forum for the Republican candidates has opened over at Power Line (announcement HERE). They've offered pages to each of the declared candidates, and several - including Giuliani, McCain, Romney, and Brownback - have already jumped on the opportunity to interact directly with the readers of one of the most popular of conservative blogs. I wish them well. The problem is the same any blog with comments enabled has, the same we have here from time to time, though: there are just too many darned idiots on the internet.
I'd hate to see a great idea like this, intended to foster open interaction and discussion directly between voters and campaigns in a public forum, plagued by the moronic blatherings from the nasty contingents of both left and right. I just can't see how they can avoid it without close moderation, which invariably leads to the trolls whining about their "freedom of speech" when their rude remarks are deleted.
