Fred Thompson is the frontrunner in at least one early caucus state - without having formally thrown his hat into the ring yet. Molly Ball of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports:
The television star and former Tennessee senator had the support of 25 percent of the 400 likely Republican caucus goers in the poll, conducted Wednesday through Friday. He was followed by Mitt Romney, with 20 percent, and Rudy Giuliani, with 17 percent.
John McCain slid down to single digits in the poll, with just 8 percent. The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
Read the full article at the above link. McCain is from neighboring Nevada, which doesn't appear to be helping his sinking ship very much.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton continues to enjoy a big lead with 39% vs. Obama's 17%, Edwards with 12%, and "Good Neighbor" Bill Richardson (who has targeted Nevada) with 7%.
Apparently, it pays NOT to be from a neighboring state . . . what happens in Vegas, etc.

I thought they just gambled for votes down there. Like celebrity poker, but without the attractive people.

Why would people in Las Vegas want Fred Thompson for president? They really support that guy from CSI, the one with the beard.
