Former Senator John Edwards may be running a weak third in the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination, but that hasn't stopped him from considering the makeup of a potential Cabinet, for which he is considering "more than one" Republican, says Ron Fournier for the Associated Press:
Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards carries a running list of people he might put in his Cabinet, and it includes "more than one" Republican."I want to be ready for when I get sworn in," the former North Carolina senator said between campaigns stops as he dug into a travel bag for the list.
"I might have it with me," Edwards told The Associated Press. "I wouldn't show it to you, but I could have it with me."
Read it all at the link above. At least Edwards is keeping his secret list on his person - given the recent raft of burglaries at campaign headquarters (see post below), that's the safest place.
Interesting that Edwards tries to "reach out" in some sort of "bipartisan" spirit by mentioning this. His campaign rhetoric has been rather more "hard left" and uncompromising. The question of which Republicans he might consider, and which might accept such an appointment, would be a wonderful exercise in speculation. You can't be wrong, since Edwards won't win the nomination in the first place.

If I'm a high level Republican, the last thing I'd want is Breck Boy naming me as someone he'd want in his Cabinet.
Talk about a kiss of death.

This is something he learned from Hanoi John and the fastasy hat. I bet the list is seared, seared in his mind.

How did a retard like the Breck boy find enough people more stupid that he to make up so many juries?

You haven't paid much attention to some of the juries they've empaneled in Southern California.
Twelve turnips from the grocer could do a better job than some of those juries.
Remember, it was a SoCal jury that didn't find OJ Simpson guilty of sawing off the heads of two people.

Thanks 'John in Ca' I remember the joke of a trial in Ca. I said on day one, guilty as hell, but he'll never be convicted. I stay off of juries. If called I simply tell them to being the guilty bastard in and lets give him a trial.

COgirl ~ True enough, but give him credit for planning ahead. In the unlikely event he wins, he'll be stuck at the beauty parlor for days, and who wants to be hiring last-minute Cabinet officers with a cucumber mud pack on their face?
kim ~ Yeah, or Lincoln Chaffee. I expect both would be available . . .

Been called a few times, but never selected out of the pool.
I figure if I look at the defendant, shake my head and say, "Guilty, guilty, guilty" I'll be out of there.
And I know they'd never let me on a death penalty case. "What do you think about the death penalty?" Me, "When are they going to install the express lane?"
As if we could actually execute someone in California. Two in three years! Six hundred plus on death row. Whopee!

On topic: If the Republicans remain the minority in both houses and some are Asked To Serve in an Edwards administration, not only would most accept (their pension being a fact) but would probably weep as if watching a rerun of "It's A Wonderful Life". A few might even bawl like an Italian stereotype.
Hopefully in private.

There is an urban myth, bD, that the senior Chaffee faked his death to put his son in the Senate.
Wow, I finally found something you didn't already know.

No, I'd give your Spanglish theory on the Univision thread precedence.
I was going to have fun with THAT but I would have had to hearken all the way back to Old Frankish meets Latin and what's the point.
