As Democrats seek to demonize Blackwater contractors, Senator Hillary Clinton's own strategist, Mark Penn, heads a firm whose clients included the company. Ben Smith reports for The Politico:
Hillary Clinton found herself defending her chief strategist Friday after The Associated Press reported that the public relations company Mark Penn runs had helped prepare the chief of the controversial military contractor Blackwater USA for his congressional testimony."Mark Penn did no work on the Blackwater account," Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said Friday afternoon.
Burson-Marsteller, of which Penn is Worldwide President and CEO, "has cut its ties to Blackwater and that was the right thing to do. Mark is and remains a valuable member of our team," Wolfson said.
Read the rest at the link above. This is mainly an amusing issue. There is nothing wrong with Penn's company taking on a client except that client happens to be in the crosshairs of self-important bloviators like Henry Waxman. The typical Hillary response to any discovery of inconvenient connections - this, or Norman Hsu, the con-man fundraiser - is to severe the ties once they are made public and declare the issue therefore irrelevant.
Democrats' political philosophy consists of recycled ideas and the tactic of throwing poop against the wall of their opponents, hoping some may stick. Sometimes their aim is errant, and some hits the fan.
Good times, good times.

I liked 'a temporary assignment based on a relationship that is over'. Move on, ignorant masses, nothing to see here.
