Who can best point out that Graeme Frost's parents are caricatures of the worst of progressive thinking. Self-employed with little taxable income, they are rich tax cheats. And public schools aren't good enough for their children, but public health is? Don't these people ever examine themselves?

Which brings up a marvelous solution to the crisis in public education. Public health standards are driven by the private sector, public education standards should be driven by the private sector. Let's see what the mechanism would be.
Omigod, something like vouchers! And I like charter schools.

Seems to me Allen's article further reinforces what I've said about the Republicans all along: They may not be that great, but they are by far the lesser of two evils.
Oh how I would just once love to vote for someone, rather than voting against their opponent.
(Now Huckabee, I think I could vote "for", but as usual he won't win the nomination.)

Unfortunately, Ronaldus Magnus is dead. He was the last one I loved and proudly voted for. Still, we do not live in the City of God nor are we electing a priest, Pope or Apostle. We are voting for a guy hopefully who will keep socialism, pacifism and international defeat from our doors. Someone who will select SCOTUS jurists, cut taxes and hopefully defeat the Islamos. He will not be perfect but he will be one who is better than Her Highness and the other socialists. And all this malarky about slow vs fast socialism is just that , blather. Neither Rudy, Fred or Mitt will bring socialism or pacifism to our nation. Any Dem would.

"And all this malarky about slow vs fast socialism is just that , blather."-gk
1848 Marxist Revolution suppressed.
New tack pondered upon lessons learned:
Result: slow vs MODERATELY fast socialist programs, both based upon coalition (compromise solution):
ergo, circa 1882(?) (1)successful Fabian Society (slow), birthed modern economic theory (Keynesianism) that ran the world until Vietnam bankrupted sponsor (USA). Produced Winston Churchill, notable for his "conservative" template against which other big government "conservatives" today are allowed leeway (to borrow $$ for the Cause). The Ends justify the Means.
The fast program (2) Socialist (later Communist) International, circa 1889(?).
We all know the program here, being non-taboo since the European Social Democratic break with Soviet Communism in reaction to Stalin's anti-semitic programs (and alternate source of easy USA credit) in the mid 1950s. Essentially, a direct action movement which was found to be wanting of a secondary position. Now known for Strikes, being decidely in decline in the west.
Both US political party philosophies have been based on one or the other of these socialist (big government) concepts since 1936. Even Reagan's "trickle down" was based on deficit spending (see Churchill). Laffer's Curve was supposed to show (on a chart!) a future that never could have come. Whatever happened to Laffer, anyway?
