Wisconsin is a Crucial Test for Hillary's Viability

Forget all the nonsense about who is "expected" to win Wisconsin tonight. Hillary needs a win and she needs it badly. She's fallen 124 delegates behind Obama in the pledged delegate count. Even after adding in superdelegates she's 51 delegates behind. (Source: CNN)

This isn't about halting anyone's "momentum"--this is about who can get the most delegates plain and simple. To do that, you have to start winning. Not tomorrow, not next week, not two weeks from now, not next month, but now.

Wisconsin is tailor-made for Hillary from a demographic standpoint. The state has only a 5.6% black population, is largely working class, and has more older voters than average. She's put a lot of money and time into it. If she can't win Wisconsin, where can she win?

A 5% win by Hillary in Wisconsin would be fine for Obama because that would roughly split the delegates. Obama is like Tiger Woods with a 6-stroke lead and 9 holes left to play. He just has to par each hole and he will come out on top. Hillary needs to birdie almost every hole and can't afford to bogey even one. We should see how good her game is pretty shortly.

Update I: CNN and MSNBC project Obama as the winner in Wisconsin.

Update II: It's a crushing margin of victory for Obama in Wisconsin; much larger than the polls indicated it would be. This will significantly up the ante for Hillary in Ohio and Texas (Source: MSNBC)

Obama: 58%
Clinton: 41%

Update III: Another massive blowout for Obama in Hawaii:

Obama: 76%
Clinton: 24%

Obama carried the liberal campus of the University of Wisconsin, Madison campus by 10 to 1, according to the Madison Mayor, Dave Cieslewicz,..Hillary it seems is no longer on the cutting edge of liberalism.

Senator Clinton appears to be fading fast and may be lucky to win another primary.
