In a desperate attempt to shore up her faltering campaign, Hillary has done the unthinkable: she has adopted the right-wing attack line that Obama is some sort of messiah:
Let's consider for a moment this statement by Hillary:
Let's just get everybody together. Let's get unified. The sky will open. The light will come down. Celestial choirs will be singing. And everyone should know we will do the right thing and the world will be perfect.
The "sky will open", "the light will come down", and "celestial choirs will be singing" are all unmistakably plagiarized from Christianity and it's divine view of the creator of the universe most Christians refer to as God. We can see this line of attack that Barack Obama is the "messiah" in the right-wing blogosphere on a daily basis.
What's different here is that a Democrat is using it against a fellow Democrat. Just a day after accusing Barack Obama of using Karl Rove tactics, Hillary herself is choosing a line of attack that Karl himself would be proud of and that right-wingers everywhere are assiduously promoting.
The unmistakable implication here is that Obama's supporters are delusional because they believe that Obama is the messiah. For Clinton, it is certainly an unusual tactic she is employing to persuade the millions of Democrats who support Obama to switch and support her. Essentially, she is saying that if you support Obama you're an idiot who has been duped by a man pretending to be the messiah.
That's a fine attack line for the right to employ but it's baffling to see Hillary using it against Obama. She is apparently not content with having squandered her chances to become president in 2008 so she is making effort to ensure that she never has a shot at it again in the future. Say what you will about Obama but his base of support has literally taken over Democratic Party operations all over the country and will be a powerful force to be reckoned with for years to come.
By employing these tactics, Hillary virtually guarantees that Obama's foot soldiers will do everything they can to block her from ever receiving the Democratic Party's nomination for president. The millions of Democrats who voted for Obama are also unlikely to forgive the fact that Hillary has quite unmistakably insulted their intelligence.
Of course, if you believe as I do, that Hillary has no business ever getting near the Oval Office again then this may be a fortuitous turn of events.

Hillary will never drop out of the race. If she can remain within striking distance, ie. close enough to win it with the Florida and Michigan delegates, she we do it.
Those who think she is just putting on a show to go down fighting and that for the sake of the party she wont do WHATEVER it takes to get the nomination, haven't been paying attention for the last 16 years.

Well, as far as I can see, my blog and remarks on Politico, Hugh Hewitt et al, was the first one (I think)a to use the term Messiah. Hil is just plagerizing my term and it is a good one. Parker on townhall.com says that ladies swoon and faint. That is a sign of the charisma of the speaker and Obama is that: charismatic with no beef. What beef there is , is socialist pacifist baloney. Obama is even more scary than the Hildabeast because in fact the swooning and his pomopous use of hope and change remind me of Woodrow Wilson who also had a Christ complex.

"The Cult of the Empty Suit" continues to get more bizarre every day -- there have been death threats against Obama critics, and the six different women who've fainted at rallies (link) are just the tip of the iceberg. The marching Obamatrons march on...
The MSM cites Obama's web site as proof he's more than an empty suit, but what fraction of Obama supporters actually have gone to the web site and read his position papers? Less than 1 percent, guaranteed.

Supposition: It appears to me that the Powers That Be are creating for the Obama campaign an alternative backstory of delusion and disillusionment which will culminate in the act of some "lone nut". If you know what I mean.

I don't know if any one reads their own candidate sites for issues, but Obama does much much better than Clinton with those who have some collge education, Gender and education are both strong predictors of Democrats' preferences for their party's presidential nominee.. Clinton has an edge with white evangelical voters even though she seemed go out of her way to mock evangelical Christians in a city, named for God's merciful Providence". Clinton's new rhetorical style may not be for the faint-hearted either.

Messiah is singular.
Plus, the line is from June Jordan's Poem for South African Women (since borrowed many times). I don't even know how it could be viewed as messianic, as it is about not waiting for someone to come save us, to change things, but rather that we are the ones to save ourselves, to change things ourselves. It's the opposite of messianic.
