The Clintons operate like the American version of the Russian regime of Putin on so many levels. Certainly both the Clintons and Putin can get things done, but with all the high costs is it really worth it?

There is certainly strong grounds for suspicion, and some circumstantial evidence, that pardons may have been granted in manner inconsistent with the established practice.

However, the Constitution does not limit the pardon power in any way. And the internal deliberations of an Administration on a policy decision do come under the privilege of the Executive. The recent tradition of more fully releasing papers is not binding.

They have a far weaker argument for delaying the release of documents pertaining to the First Lady's activities, most of which are not covered by privilege.

Jim, you bring up an excellent point. The thing that is most disturbing is the appearance that the Clintons have something to hide. It also leads to the belief that they are very calculating individuals. Appearance is everything. If this was George Bush not turning over something, even if it was his executive privilege to not have to do so, the media would be all over this.

This is precisely why the country needs a real change..Instead of the quid pro quo, you scratch my back, I scratch your's between the Clintons and Bushes..Bill Clinton didn't look at Bush's 41 role into Iran Contragate and pardoning the Republican officials or investigating other Bush abuses. Bush 43 doesn't want to look into the Rich pardon, or any of the other Clinton era abuses.

Investigators want to know if Denise's contributions led to a direct quid pro quo exchange for her ex-husband's pardon. Clinton has denied any connection, saying he relied solely on the information provided by Jack Quinn (former White House counsel and Rich's current lawyer) when he was weighing the pardon request.

Last week, when she was called to testify before the congressional panel, she( Denise Rich) took the Fifth.

Now Bill Clinton is saying 7 years later, the paper work still isn't ready. This on behalf of a candidate who likes paper work and guffawed at Obama because he has a messy desk.

Ethics, accountability, transparency, integrity, inspiring people to hope that the system might change, making allies, listening to other people, courtesy, investigating abuses (get a reality check) that's airy-fairy stuff for college educated kids. It is almost a perfect air tight Establishment scam except for the millions of ordinary Americans who have voted and funded Obama with small donations who are tired of the revolving door pardons and feeding at the money trough, for the Bushies and Clintonites and want put an end to this, next November unless something sinister even worse than character assassination happens in the meantime, and that is another tradition of American politics.
