Today's Democratic caucus comes two months after Republicans had their own in the Rocky Mountain state. From AP-
CASPER, Wyoming (AFP) - Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama face off in the small, western state of Wyoming Saturday as a tight White House race left them battling to the last nominating delegate.I'd love to hear someone tell me any clear differences between Hillary and Obama on major issues. Truthfully, I see any differences a matter of nuance. There is a large gulf between the two candidates on a personality level.Wyoming has only 12 delegates, a small number compared to the 2,025 needed to secure the party's presidential nomination at its August convention, but with no candidate yet able to lock in the nod, every delegate counts.
Perhaps more important, with only two contests in the next several weeks, every win counts in the battle for momentum.
A national Newsweek poll released Friday showed the two in a virtual tie in their epic battle to represent the party in the November 4 presidential election, with Obama with 45 percent support against Clinton's 44 percent.
The two were also virtually equal in voters' eyes on the issue many see most important: the sagging US economy.
Wyoming is a caucus state. Therefore I think Obama will come out on top. According to this AP article, Clinton is lowering expectations.

"I'd love to hear someone tell me any clear differences between Hillary and Obama on major issues."
Obama in Cleveland before 100 Jewish leaders:
"This is where I get to be honest and I hope I'm not out of school here. I think there is a strain within the pro-Israel community that says unless you adopt a unwavering pro-Likud approach to Israel that you're anti-Israel and that can't be the measure of our friendship with Israel. If we cannot have a honest dialogue about how do we achieve these goals, then we're not going to make progress."

On page 4 of my link Obama expounds on Islam and Indonesia. Conclusion: Obama is positioning himself nicely inside the camp of foreign policy "realists" and away from the Straussian fanatics.

Ah, yes, the "realists," those hearty and hale men of yore who told us in stentorian tones how we just had to accept communist totalitarian domination of half the world, and that it was far better to learn to deal with the various murderous and oppressive despots in the world than to offend them with talk about freedom, etc.
Yes, I remember them well. Same group who were always looking for a convenient way to throw Israel under the bus without leaving any fingerprints on the carcass.
I can see shades of nuances of difference there. Hard to discern many others, though - both are down-the-line left-wing Democrats and neither has ever run any operation of any size in their lives. They represent two major victim constituencies in the party, and are vying to see whether America "is more racist or more misogynist," as Maureen Dowd might say and did.
