Gov. Bill Richardson endorses Barack Obama

Did the New Mexico Governor poke or hug Obama before endorsing him? From AP-

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, the nation's only Hispanic governor, is endorsing Sen. Barack Obama for president, calling him a "once-in-a- lifetime leader" who can unite the nation and restore America's international leadership.

Richardson, who dropped out of the Democratic race in January, is to appear with Obama on Friday at a campaign event in Portland, Ore., The Associated Press has learned.

The governor's endorsement comes as Obama leads among delegates selected at primaries and caucuses but with national public opinion polling showing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton pulling ahead of him amid controversy over statements by his former pastor.

Richardson has been relentlessly wooed by Obama and Clinton for his endorsement.

I really haven't got a clue how Richardson's endorsement will effect the Democratic primary outcome. One thing is certain, you can scratch him off Hillary's list of potential VP running mates.

Lee Ward[TypeKey Profile Page]:

Richardson was prepared to announce his endorsement in late February, right before the Texas primary. Richardson, an Hispanic, would have given Obama a boost in Texas with Hispanic voters.

Richardson stated earlier today that he may make an endorsement in the next few days.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, a key superdelegate in the U.S. presidential contest, said he would decide this week whether to endorse a Democratic candidate.

Richardson, himself an early candidate for the Democratic nomination for president, remained on the fence for endorsing a particular candidate. But, in an interview with The Albuquerque Journal, Richardson said, "I'm going to decide whether to endorse certainly this week."

Apparently the Obama folks felt they could win Texas without it, and decided to hold back on Richardson's endorsement until it would be give them a bigger boost.

So why trot Richardson out now?

Clearly the Obama camp is still reeling from Obama's recent stunning fall in the polls, and it's time to (1) throw the kitchen sink at Clinton, while (2) pulling out the stops to halt the profuse hemorrhaging the Obama campaign is suffering from now that America is beginning to learn more about the Real Barack Obama.

We're seeing first hand Obama's incapacity to bring people together and bridge idealogical divides, as he's claimed he could and would do.

All Obama has accomplished of late is creating a racial divide, not solving it.

It was all just another speech. Just words....

Right Lee. Leading in 4 of the 5 major polls is a "stunning fall".

Why do you humiliate yourself over and over again with such obvious lies that are so easy to prove wrong? I seriously think you need therapy for your Obama Derangement Syndrome. It's not healthy.

You link to your own delirious musings full of spin and misleading information to prove a point. Lol! Come on now, Larkin, you've never been one to get the facts straight.

Look!

The latest poll results for Barack Obama in bellwether Missouri: He's down. But he's certainly not out for the count.

The Survey USA poll shows just how much Obama was hurt by the controvery over the hateful words of his longtime minister, Jeremiah Wright.

The weekend poll said Obama trailed Republican John McCain by a 53-39 margin, far greater than the previous 48-42 margin.

Look!

Mrs Clinton overtook Mr Obama in a daily Gallup tracking poll earlier this week and the latest Reuters/Zogby survey shows her leading the Illinois senator 49 per cent to 42 per cent in the contest to face Republican Senator John McCain in November.

Odd that you left those polls out of your 'analysis", eh Larkie?

Not odd - totally predicable and to be expected.

But wait... there' more.

Obama's had a tough week, as numbers everywhere reflect, including the Gallup daily track (but not the Rasmussen track) and three state polls showing Clinton outperforming Obama against McCain in Ohio, Missouri and even making Kentucky somewhat competitive.

As usual, you ignore the truth and attack the messenger. Thanks for the advice, old friend, but seriously - take a look in the mirror. You've lost touch with reality and are in total spin mode - going so far as to distort the truth to make your point in your posts, then attacking anyone who dares disagree with you.

Nice guy, Richardson. The Clintons pluck him out of congressional obscurity and name him UN Ambassador and Energy Secretary, the two biggest jobs he's had in his life, making him a cinch for the Governorship of NM whenever he returned, and a viable Presidential contender (on paper, at least).

Some loyalty.

Wonder what tipped the balance? Maybe it was the "G*d D*amn America!" stuff - judging by the flow of national secrets out the door while Richardson was in charge of Energy, he certainly wasn't on OUR side . . .

"Wonder what tipped the balance?"

Caroline Kennedy in her role as Fortuna, daughter of Jove F. Kennedy, put her finger on the scales in Obama's behalf. The political axis tilted. Consider it revenge of the salon and the jet set for the Clintons being on the radar so much in office. Instead of handling things "better".

"Cui servire est regnare":

"to serve is to rule"

Bill Clinton horn-dogging around like King Farouk for 8 years almost wrecked the idealistic facade of the government "service" racket. Bill Richardson comes from a family of trans-national elites.
