Hillary Clinton has been proven wrong (again) with her silly claim that Barack Obama was falsely claiming that he was a law professor:
Sen. Obama consistently and falsely claims that he was a law professor. The Sun-Times reported that, "Several direct-mail pieces issued for Obama's primary [Senate] campaign said he was a law professor at the University of Chicago. He is not. He is a senior lecturer (now on leave) at the school. In academia, there is a vast difference between the two titles. Details matter." In academia, there's a significant difference: professors have tenure while lecturers do not. [Hotline Blog, 4/9/07; Chicago Sun-Times, 8/8/04]
The University of Chicago Law School has now issued a statement:
From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama served as a professor in the Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors, although not full-time or tenure-track. The title of Senior Lecturer is distinct from the title of Lecturer, which signifies adjunct status. Like Obama, each of the Law School's Senior Lecturers have high-demand careers in politics or public service, which prevent full-time teaching. Several times during his 12 years as a professor in the Law School, Obama was invited to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position, but he declined.
So much for that. On to the next negative smear by the Clintons.

Pretty dumb of Hillary to draw attention to Obama's stellar law career..As smart as Hillary is she failed her D.C. bar exams. This is why she went to Arkansas and took up Bill's offer of marriage and then passed the Arkansas Bar exams.
I have linked to this Chicago Sun Times article before but to those who haven't seen it is a pretty g,ood recommendation on Obama's performance in the classroom at the University of Chicago, a law school rated 6th in the country according to bryanD..

Glad to know there is something Obama hasn't lied about.
I suspect people will find his lies about Rezko and Wright of greater importance than the technical question of his employment states at UC.

sorry but it looks like the school is covering for Obama ... they call him a professor but he never served in that capacity and was never called a professor prior to that "statement" . They have the title Lecturer for a reason ... maybe they felt alittle ashamed at having made someone a lecturer who was obvious unqualified ...

It is clear that many know nothing about academic rank. The article is correct in every particular. I am an adjunct faculty member that teaches political science in an institution that does not offer senior lecturer status. Most major universities do. Like others who pursue this alternative to full time academic life, I enjoy the life of the mind and writing (my main career) and have an active and busy professional life that precludes my being a full time professor. I am considered a professor and have full institutional privileges with the exception that I am not full time. I also have the option of refusing an assignment and not sitting on College service committees, a plus in my view.

Regarded as a professor as opposed to actually being a professor. Is that the same as being an honory cop vs being a real cop? Democrats again assume everyone is stupid and prove that in fact democrats are stupid.
Give us a break, Hussein Obama is a racist anti-american nobody without the first qualification to be POTUS. Put him there and he will be used by the Power Brokers and Islamist and the citizens will pay, pay and pay.
Democrats are already the richest group in government and bowing to kiss a$$ George Soros (a wanted criminal in France), go ahead make them the super richest group. It's your money and life as well as mine.

Sorry, but this is rubbish. I'm an academic myself -- a Professor of Mathematics at a state university in the west. Senior Lecturers are indeed regarded as part of the faculty -- that much is true -- but they are *not* professors. Words have meanings. Law faculty are probably used to stretching meanings, but they really shouldn't do so just to cover for Obama.
