What a shock. Hussein O pandering for votes. Think I'll go smash my head against a concrete wall for not suggesting that to him.

Gore stated yesterday that he has no interest in brokering a peace between Clinton and Obama, and I suspect he doesn't want the VP slot just to be stuck with the job of wet-diapering Obambi in times of crisis -- so this is just Barack's way of pandering to the masses who adore Gore.
As a compromise candidate, however, Gore carries strong juju. If Barack was self-aware enough to recognize his weaknesses he'd jump at the chance to be Gore's VP, and there is little chance of that ticket losing in November.
There's also little chance of that happening, however, as Barack is head-in-the-clouds lost in his Quest to be the big Kahuna...

Barack Obama would consider Al Gore for a cabinet post
Another sign of desperation. The Obama campaign has resorted to the worst form of cutting and pasting.
Do any Democrats recognize the red flag in this bull ring? This guy is in so far over his head it is hard for him the see the whale S**t floating a mile above him.
The strangest aspect of politics is that those once considered inevitable are suddenly yesterday's lettuce. Ask Hillary. Ask McCain, Ask GHW Bush. Ask Hart. And Barack thinks what differentiates him from this?
I'm going to start working on the Barack/Dole parallels because much of what I see and hear can be reduced to : it's his turn. And the last President elected because it was "his turn"? Hmmmmmm.

Algore as Zadok.

If one were so inclined to draw parallels between the election of 1824 and this primary, Obama might be concerned with Algore being cast as Henry Clay (should the DNC wind up brokered) and preemptively attempting to curry favor.
There's also the casual news follower that simply heard something about Obama, Gore, and a cabinet position. As long as Gore doesn't publicly reject Obama, Obama's succeeded in presenting the appearance that Gore's somehow on his side.

"He's someone I talk to on a regular basis," Obama said. "I'm already CONSULTing with him on these issues."_Reuters
Excuse my kremlinology, but: CONSULTancy is pure Algore. Equivalent to "Master/Teacher" in technocratic terms.
Also, the public mention (with a capital "M") of such a relationship between the two comes in the midst of an insurgent (albeit low-level) re-emergence of "Algore'08" noise-making which happens to have clashed with Richardson's Obama endorsement of 2 weeks ago and has continued beyond Casey's cherry-on-top endorsement this week.
So, I think there was a meeting at the DNC version of Britain's old Reform Club during which Things were Straightened Out, i.e. reassurance given that independent Gore zealots will be brought to heel and lined-out. The public way is the most efficient way.
And yes, I think the question therefore ("cabinet or advisor?"): if it wasn't a plant it would have been planted.
Anyway, I think my aim is true. At the pace this cycle is taking, the Kentucky windage required is negligible.
